DESCRIPTION:Dear Colleagues and Friends\,\n\n\n\n\n\nIt is my pleasure to welcome you all to the\n28th EVER CONGRESS\,\nwhich will be held in florence on October 9-11\, 2025.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\noneEVER is the leading ophthalmological research association in Europe which covers all areas of ophthalmology and the visual sciences. It can be considered as a bridge between basic scientists and clinical eye research of ophthalmology (including retina\, glaucoma\, cornea and ocular surface\, oncology\, pediatric ophthalmology\, strabismus\, neuro-ophthalmology and lens disorders). It is mostly interested in translational research within all areas of ophthalmology and the visual sciences. This is being introduced during congress annual meetings\, where the best researchers and ophthalmology clinicians are present. It is essential for EVER that these congress meetings are attended by delegates from all over the world. \nWe are particularly pleased to welcome you to the city of Florence\, the cradle of the Renaissance of Arts and Science\, and which still today is a cutting-edge city for science\, culture\, hospitality\, and beauty. With such an important cultural and scientific heritage\, with its pleasant Mediterranean climate\, Florence is the ideal place to host the 28th EVER Congress. \nThe venue Palazzo degli Affari\, designed by the architect Pierluigi Spadolini\, is an elegant and modern congress center overlooking Piazza Adua\, located in the city centre\, surrounded by hotels and very easy to access. It is close to the high-speed train station and only fifteen minutes away from the city’s airport. \nI am convinced that EVER and this excellent venue will initiate or reinforce fruitful collaborations between European researchers\, clinicians and industry. I see my mission at EVER to connect these key elements\, which will be beneficial for the better understanding of physiology\, pathophysiology and treatment. \nI am especially interested to offer the conference attendees a broad spectrum of unique state-of-the-art topics of all areas of ophthalmology and visual sciences giving also young investigators the chance to share their research and experience. Indeed\, excellent platform or poster presentation from young investigators can get the chance to be honored by an award\, which may help to boost their career path. \nWe are glad to announce that EVER will offer several awards for excellent contributions to the EVER conference taking place in Florence in 2025. SUMMARY:7-9 June 2025 Lisbon\, Portugal
DESCRIPTION:Following the very successful SOE Congress in Prague in June 2023\, it is time to look ahead at the Congress due to take place in Lisbon in June 2025. I am most grateful to each and everyone whose contribution helped make the Prague Congress such an achievement. \nThe planning for Prague started at the early stages of the recovery from Covid. There were the obvious uncertainties about the future and the appetite of colleagues to return to face to face meetings. There were considerable challenges not least as a result of crowded diaries with other meetings overlapping or taking place around the same time. \nWe were very pleased to welcome nearly two thousand delegates from 89 countries from across every continent. The feedback on the clinical content was excellent and thanks to the help and support of our Czech Colleagues and the Czech Ophthalmological Society we enjoyed an exceptional social program. We were delighted to be able to offer free registration to 130 Ukrainian colleagues \nWe have every reason to expect strong support and an even greater success in Lisbon. The scientific program is constantly evolving based on the feedback from previous meetings. We also expect the Congress to offer significant networking opportunities in beautiful Lisbon at a very good time of the year. \nWe look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be a feast of Ophthalmology for Senior and Young colleagues in all disciplines of Ophthalmology from Europe and across the world.

SUMMARY:DOC 2025 Nuremberg 15th to 17th May
DESCRIPTION:DOC 2024 was a great success. We once again enjoyed record attendance\, with more than 6\,500 participants at the congress.\nOver 540 speakers presented 159 lectures\, 102 courses\, 27 wetlabs and drylabs\, 10 symposia\, exceptional honor lectures and keynote lectures. A highlight was the video live surgery from the Singapore National Eye Centre with two outstanding eye surgeons (Chee Soon Phaik and Doric Wong).\nThe program for management and administrative staff was very varied and extremely popular.\nThe OAP program for ophthalmological assistants (MFAs and operating theatre nurses) was extremely multifaceted and well attended. A very comprehensive and well-organized industry exhibition regarding everything that is important in the fields of ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery today was an important part of this meeting.\nI hope that you went home with a wealth of valuable impressions and insights\, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many members of staff who worked so hard to organize and realize this congress. This includes my DOC team\, the organizing committee and the DOC program committee. I would also like to express my special thanks to MCN for their excellent and dedicated organization.\nI am looking forward to DOC 2025 in Nuremberg from 15th to 17th May 2025.\nI hope to see you there! DESCRIPTION:A highly sought after accredited virtual course delivered by world-renowned experts at Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. \nCourse structure\nThis course will feature live on-line lectures by an international faculty\, interactive question and answer sessions and case discussions. Pre-recorded introductory lectures will cover topics such as anatomy\, ophthalmic imaging and the clinical characteristics of genetic and acquired eye disease. \nThe course is available online from Monday 30 September. Live lectures will take place on the following dates: \n\nFriday 11 October\nSaturday 12 October\nFriday 18 October\nSaturday 19 October\nSaturday 16 November\n\nPlease click here to view the full agenda. \nPlease note that all live lecture sessions will either be available in pre-recorded format or will be recorded on the day of the live session so that it remains possible to participate in the course regardless of time zone and also to begin the course after the live lectures have taken place. The course materials will be available until 31 December 2024. \nOptional practical day \nThe course also offers an optional practical day\, to be held on-site at Moorfields Eye Hospital. A maximum of 15 places are available per practical day. If you would like to attend\, please make sure that you add this option to your cart\, as well as the course itself\, before checking out. \nWho is this course for?\nThe course is intended for clinicians who wish to practice in the field or expand their knowledge\, to basic and clinical scientists and other paramedics who have an interest in clinical vision science and to technicians and clinical physiologists working in ophthalmological or neurological electrodiagnostic units. \nFeatured topics\nThe main course will include live lectures on the theory and practice of clinical visual electrophysiology. There will be lectures on electroretinography (ERG)\, pattern ERG\, multifocal ERG\, cortical visual evoked potential (VEP)\, the electro-oculogram (EOG) and extended ERG protocols. Topics will be addressed in the context of clinical applications\, including specialised paediatric techniques\, in a wide range of retinal and visual pathway disorders. \nBenefits of attending\n\nTo understand the theory and practice of electrodiagnostic testing.\nTo understand the diagnostic and clinical applications of different electrophysiological techniques including the full-field ERG\, multifocal ERG\, pattern ERG\, EOG\, VEP and ISCEV extended protocols.\nTo interpret electrophysiological recordings in cases of inherited and acquired visual pathway and retinal disease.\nTo understand structure-function and genotype-phenotype correlations.\nTo understand the diagnostic value of electrophysiology in clinical practice.\n\nCPD certification\nCPD points and a certificate of attendance will be awarded at the end of the course. \nRequirement\nIn order to access the programme online\, you will need access to a computer (laptop or desktop) with a webcam and microphone.
